Please enjoy... and laugh!

Pictures: the first plate is a portrait of Chilpéric on a Sarreguemines plate; the second and the third pictures are of a plate made in Creil-Montereau; the fourth picture is a painting by Toulouse-Lautrec showing Marcelle Lender dancing the Boléro of "Chilpéric".

(Marcel Cariven, Orchestre Radio-Lyrique, 1959)

  • I agree - absolutely brilliant

  • Thank you Popoli ... It's something else; but I need to acquaint myself further with the plot before I dare comment... Thank you!

  • Well, let aside the fantastic pictures of your clip -- I love French opéra-bouffe and I have a wide collection of the radio recordings (which I don't dare to post), but Hervé and this overture in particular are among my favourites! The change from the Druids' Chorus to that hilarious march and gallop is just ravishing.

  • If Offenbach and Verdi had a baby, I guess it would be Herve

  • Eu adorei!

Souvenirs !!.. )

  • Great!
