Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, also known as Donald Starring in Maui Mallard, is a run n gun platformer video game released in year 1996 for the Super NES and Super Famicom console. The game was developed by Eurocom and released by Disney Interactive. Besides platforming gameplay, one of the game's features is allowing to switch the player character's form. The player begins the game as Maui, armed with a pistol. In the second level, Maui transforms into Cold Shadow, his ninja alter ego who defends himself with short range attacks using a staff. After the second level, the player can switch back and forth between Maui and Cold Shadow.

  • the snes version is far best than the MD version. Better music, better graphics, gameplay more faster. More levels.

  • this was for the snes? wow i thought it was a pc game, which I use to have, now I dont know where it is -___-

  • This is one of the first games I ever bought. It's awesome and challenging and I wish I could play the PC version now... too bad nothing supports it. :(

  • man, this is the first game i ever got, nowaday games can't compare

  • aladdin(snes), duck tales (nes) disney platformers were great during the 2d glory days!

  • LOL

  • I remember playing this on Sega Channel. I don't think it ever made it to the US.

  • 3D is cheaper and easier to find people to work on your games. Traditional 2D artists to work on video games are harder to find, harder to employ, take more time, and take WAY more assets to make a complete game.

Essentially it is about the bottom line.
