To every parent who has ever lost a child, my heart goes out to you for your loss too...I offer you my empathy and compassion. We may never know each other personally, but we are forever connected through the tragic and sad bond we all share. So much sorrow now fills these sad eyes of mine.

Our son Jarred passed away suddenly and unbelievably at 26yrs of age, on the 5th of November 2010. His death was not the result of an accident, nor was it brought about by his own or anyone else's doing. He didn't have a heart attack or an aneurysm, he had never smoked or taken drugs and he wasn't suffering from any other kind of illness or health problems that he or anyone else was ever aware of....There is no logical reason why he shouldn't be here still, and not one single cause for his death can be found. One Thursday evening we had a beautiful happy son, and then just a few short hours later, he was inexplicably...gone.

It is totally unimaginable and incomprehensible, how can you possibly understand what doesn't make any sense or have any reason for being so? All you're left with is mind numbing disbelief, confusion, and endless unanswerable questions in a world you no longer know or fit into. There isn't a moment that passes in a day that our hearts aren't breaking, missing and loving him like we do, and knowing that this pain of not having him here where he belongs is going to be with us for the rest of our lives. There is no 'light at the end of the tunnel' for us, this is not something that you...get through...get over or move on from...this is FOREVER and we are forever changed. We must learn to live life without his wonderful presence around us. I hope that in time we will find a way to honour him and his life.

Jarred really was a one in a million kind of person and the world is a much, much lesser place without him in it... Right from the start he came and broke all the rules...he was everything any parent could ever want, every sister's joy, every friend's wish...the love in his eyes, the way that he cared for us, we found it all in him. There was never a day in his life that he didn't smile and make people happy, he had a way about him that without even trying, he made you feel better inside just by being in his presence, and he loved life so much...He had so many dreams and so many goals and they were all just coming to fruition.

To say that his smile was amazingly awesome and incredibly infectious would be such an understatement, there isn't a person in this world who knew him who wouldn't agree on that, and when he smiled his eyes twinkled too, brighter than any stars in the sky.

The way he moved through this world was the same way he moved my soul....every room he walked into came alive, he had such a big heart and such a deep love. He will forever be the song of my heart...the greatest love song that has never been written, for there is no greater love than that of a parent for their child.

This tribute is not about death, it's about love, and it's about a young man who loved life and loved sharing it with everyone around him. If any of this video manages to bring a smile to your face or gives voice to your laughter, if it warms your heart and allows you to feel the love we all shared with him...if it allows you to feel a sense of loss within your own heart on some level, and if it manages to portray the essence of the truly awesome person my son is and always will be, then in my own small way I have succeeded in what I set out to do.

If only we could find the big book where all things are written, go to the chapter about him, rip out some pages and re-write the ending......What a beautiful story of life and love it would be

I never stop hearing the music, even after the song is through, it's breaking my heart and mind in three quarter time. I still see your eyes, your warm gentle smile...It was all worthwhile, each moment we knew

I love you son, a&f mum xxx

Many thanks to the artists/song writers whose song titles/lyrics I have borrowed
