This is a video that I made as an anticipatory set for a lesson on the Founding Fathers and the creation of the United States Constitution. An anticipatory set is something that introduces the students to the lesson and maintains their interest. Wets their appetites if you will. :) The goal of the lesson is to have the students create a photostory of their own on one of the founding fathers. If they do not choose one from the video the student also has to explain why they feel that the individual is a founding father. It is a pretty basic lesson and video but my goal is to get the students thinking critically about history and coming up with their own interpretations and being able to support them with evidence. The music in this video is from the cd "Songs of the Civil War" but I felt it fit best out of what I had in my collection. The two songs played are "When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again" and "Dixie's Land". Both are recored by the United States Military Academy Band. Let me know what you think but please keep it clean!
