Auto Gyro Test Flight: This AutoGyro RC vehicle has a Nitro engine up front, a stabilizer wing with working rudder. All other controls are made via the active swash of the top rotor head.

"There are no aileron or elevator control surfaces."

The rotor is not powered and requires spin up prior to takeoff.

  • way does it crash???

  • @soverato3

It crashed that time because the main rotor blades were tilted back too far causing the plane to pitch up when moving fast forward. The result was a stall and it fell down.

The fixed wing only works at higher spped and holds the ailerons. There are autogiros with cyclic pitch. They don't need the fixed wing at all.

  • 5 degrees negative pitch, 5 degrees rearward tilt. Make sure your CG is forward of the rotor centerline!

  • why do you need the rotory wing when you have an good amoung of fixed wing ????
