All this elephant taming before the rajputh king is intimidation tactics to make him surrender. He himself is offering his daughter which was not the real case. It was Jalal who twisted the rajputh king's arm into giving his daughter to ensure continued support and surrender.

hmm I dont think thats how it is.. If it was an intimidation tactic, the king would have agreed without giving his daughter away (since that condition was what made Akbar think twice before accepting). Plus the king had no other option cos all the Rajputana kings refused to marry Jodha

Anyways, i guess its debatable..

Elephants are wild animals even though they are herbivorus. They tame them from the time they are babies. The whole taming process is kind of very cruel. But since elephants are very intelligent also they have a very good memory. It is this memory that reminds them of what will happen if they dont obey.
