  • @JubalCalif This is how I best remember Mike Connors.

(Don't figure out my age, LOLOLOL).

  • cool. screen gems produced this show.

  • THANKS for posting! Looks like it was an exciting show! I can see why they gave the beefy, hunky & handsome Mike Connors the lead. Gave him some much needed experience which he put to good use later in his long running & highly acclaimed private eye series "Mannix". CHEERS! :-)

  • @44032 No one never looked for a gun back there

  • When I was a kid we would stick our cap guns in the small of the back and play "Tightrope." Thanks for posting.

Mike Connors actually played a Bond-like character in the little known Dino deLaurentis movie Kiss The Girls And Make Them Die from 1966, a year before he landed his most famous role as Joe Mannix.

BTW, Joe Mannix's PI licence is numbered 13 007!

  • At the time cops wore the gun either in a belt holster or a shoulder holster, either of which would be revealed if "patted down" - that "secret gun" saved him countless times.

Incidentally, I always thought that Connors would have made a great James Bond (note that swagger and arched eyebrow on leaving the room)
