  • There's a single version that's much more intense than this. It was re-released on the NWOBHM '79 compilation.

  • This version is also on the Sweet Savage CD " RADIO TIME " A compilation of tracks broadcast at various Radio Station from 1979-81. It is available to buy on Ebay , Just search Sweet Savage and view the bands other CD releases .

  • Sounds like Sabbath did Iron maiden and had a sweet Savage.

  • @savagessweet so is the one from nwobhm cd not vivian campbell?

  • @brianbozowski Both versions are amazing. This song is fucking amazing!! Been listening to it since 1994. Stumbled across this version 2 years ago so I prefer it since it's fresher in my mind. I have the NWOBHM double CD and it is one of a kind.

  • @thezill69 I'm 16 and have seen Ray Haller sing at two concerts.

  • @SlaveToThePower Check this link watch?v=wLuYJR1zwyE. This is a Sweet Savage song named 'Straight Through the Heart' whose main riff was used for Dio's 'Caught in the Middle.' And good ole Ronnie recycled the original song title as well and put his own 'Straight Through the Heart' on 'Holy Diver.' One of the reasons why Vivian hates RJD to this day is that he took his riffs and songs for Dio and didn't cut him in properly on the publishing, meaning that Viv was screwed out of a LOT of money!

  • @SabuPtolemy Oh wow, really?? Thanks for that info!!

  • @SlaveToThePower You never heard of them before because they never released an album at the time and all of their 7" singles were extremely rare and almost impossible to get even back then. The only song of theirs that was somewhat known was 'Eye of the Storm' from the 'Friday Rock Show' compilation LP. And when Vivian Campbell left the band to join Dio they pretty much fell apart and din't do anything for years. Btw, half of the songs on 'Holy Diver' are re-worked Sweet Savage tracks.

  • They were one of Metallica's influential bands. They have nothing but love and respect for these guys. "Killing Time" is a Sweet Savage song and they often have Sweet savage open for them in Europe.

  • He's done pretty well since leaving. War Viv!!!
