Blackberry 9300 3G Curve £149.99 car phone warehouse (unlocked) with free 8GB SD card (had to argue hard for the free sd card)
on Orange Dolphin pay as you go:
£10 top up per month (includes 300 free texts / free 100 MB internet use)
then I pay out £5 for Blackberry Internet Pass (allowing unlimited emails) and a further 100 MB of net use.
then I pay out the final £5 for a 'minute bundle' being 100 mins for £5 (so works out at just 5p per min). I think this is really good valid for just £10 per month.
(only condition is that you NEED to have a minimum of £1 on your phone....but no big problem as you can do a 'tiny top up' for £1)
Was fed up of being in a contract paying for 18 to 24 months. Pay as you go freedom without a credit check or nonsense. Plus the option to change tarrifs every 30 days if my circumstances change.

  • wow a 2 year contract. It's a really ageing phone now and 24 mnths is like £252.00 in total. if you wanna swap for something newer then your tied in for a long time. I'm moving to BB 9900 or something newer now.

  • bbm also includes free net and free email.

    bbm is £5 per month.

You just call orange customer services and ask them to add the BBM and put it on automatic 'monthly' renewal (ie: £5 per month is taken from your credit)...

BUT always remeber to have £5 credit on your phone each month when it;s due for renwewal, as IF you forget and dont have any credit, then it's switched off.......which means you have to call them again to have it added again (which takes 24 hours to be put on)

  • 100mb lasts for one month. Have had the phone now for about six months ish and have yet to go beyond 100 mb in useage. In fact rarely do I use up more than 50mb. As much as I hate to give orange any praise..but for topping up just ten quid a month I get 400 txts and 100 mb net AND still have the tenner on my phone for calls. Bargain.

  • the £5 for the blackberry internet pass give you unllimited net and the dolphin tariff gives you 100 megs also - so either way you can net net net and be safe.

I've really hammered usage hard and never had a problem,

the bold is a nice phone too
