iTP Polestar A6 vs EagleTac P20A2 MKII vs 4Sevens Quark AA2 vs NiteCore D10 head to head beam shot time lapse video.

All 4 lights are using relatively new Rayovac 4.0 NiMH low self discharge cells.

The Polestar is a "wall of light" and is under represented in the photos due to it's gargantuan hotspot and intense spill. You can see just how much light is in the spill by looking at the ceiling and walls closer to the camera.

  • The test is not devised properly. Out of 4 flashlights compared, three of them are from completely different categories. You can not compare Polestar ran by 6 (SIX!) cells with lanterns holding 1 or 2 cells. If you wanted to empasize "light power" of Polestar, that's ok, but "vs" prefix really makes no sense at all. It more looks like you're "matching" apples and oranges.

As for the general quality of the lights tested, EagleTac is outstanding!

  • @FedReserv This is not a "test". It's a simple beam shot and runtime comparison of high performance AA flashlights. As my comment below says "they are all very good lights for different reasons".

This video is to help someone trying to decide on a flashlight, not "which is best". It shows the beam characteristics, runtime, and flashlight size in a quantitative way. Viewers will have to decide on their own what category of light they want.

  • @entoptics

This video surely is useful for people seeking more than plane factory data on the paper. Thumbs up for the effort! Yet, I'm sure it would be more interesting if you would place more flashlights from the same category on the same track.

  • @FedReserv Send me some flashlights and I'd be happy too! All the vids in this playlist were made with my own lights, or ones I bought for my dad, so I don't have several samples of a single category. As I get my hands on more lights I make more time lapses.

My original goal was to highlight new LED tech (vs the common Maglight) and practice time lapse photo videos.

I will put up a Quark AA vs D10 vs Zebralight SC51 in the not too distant future, since I just bought an SC51.

  • this is nicely made, great video, do you use the ITP A6 often if so whats your opinion on it as it seems like a bargain light 700lumens at low price?

  • @76bts I use the Polestar all the time. Had it for several months now. It's well built for it's price/feature ratio. It's not a light I'd rely on in a life or death job, but it seems tough enough for most users (household, camping, hunting, etc). In terms of overall quality, I would give it a 7 out of 10 (10=SureFire, 9 = Fenix/4Sevens/etc, 1 = plastic $-store stuff)

700 lumens is probably an over estimate. Based on my experience, I would guess it's closer to 600 out the front lumens.

  • I can see your supervisor lurking in the shadows!

  • @mednos That's a really tough question to answer, as they are all very good lights for different reasons.

Check out Candlepowerforums (use the search function) for comprehensive reviews, opinions, and specifications for these lights and pretty much every other flashlight out there.

  • So wich one is the best in your opinion? What about price/value? Thanks.
