Jessica Simpson reacts to Nick Lachey's engagement...

"I couldn't be more happy for Nick, you know our relationship was over a really long time ago so it would be nice if everybody could move on with us and celebrate the love between him and Vanessa, I do, and I wish them nothing but the best!"

During an interview with Ryan Seacrest this morning, Jessica Simpson says contrary to reports, she is extremely happy for ex-husband Nick Lachey and his new bride-to-be Vanessa Minillo.

It was five years ago this Thanksgiving that Jessica and Nick announced their split, and both have had serious relationships since then, so Jessica thinks it is time for everyone to move on.

Jess is looking forward to spending the holidays with her own love, telling Ryan that Eric Johnson and his family will join her on a float at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. As for deciding where they'll celebrate Christmas, she's still working out the details but knows that nephew Bronx is a big factor.

"I can't imagine not being with my nephew and not seeing him open gifts and stuff."

@MsDB1993 yep, if only they would both swallow their pride and stop being so stubborn. Obviously Jess still feels something for Nick or she wouldn't have gotten engaged so fast after Nick announced his engagement. I mean she barely dated/knew the guy for 5 months and now they're engaged? Please, that won't last. I feel bad for Jess, she just can't seem to feel secure even now. But then again, its hard to when you let the best thing that ever happened to you go.

I am happy for Jessica and Eric, I don't know what took place between her and Nick but even if it was evident that they loved each other enormously, all this celebrity, this running in the glory, this real tv and Jess's youth without speaking about These rumours of adultery =s ... they will always be mythical for me and they will always love each other, but differently! Congrats to Nick for his wedding and Jess for her baby! that's all I have to say!

@pinaygemstone i agree with you about jessica. jessica back in 2002 was only 21 years old she had one cd sweet kisses she did in 1999 with nick and other artists. nick i believe in 2002 i think he was 25 years old back than. he nick was ready for marriage in 2002. if you watch jessica and nick reality show 2002-2005 on here you can see nick did everything for jessica. it was one sided marriage in my view.
