  • Stupendo!!! Sto cercando questo film ("Rapsodia in blu") in italiano, ma purtroppo non l'ho ancora trovato

  • I wanted to watch this after seeing Herbie Hancock perform this on PBS. I was amazed at how fast his hands moved. I wanted to listen to Oscar Levant play it. He considered himself the definitive interpreter of his friend Gerswin's work. Levant was a genius who crossed over to crazy (Howard Hughes perhaps another). Levant said himself, "there is a fine line between genius and insanity, I have erased this line."

  • @hrlaser Actually, the piece is longer, about seventeen minutes. But all of Leonard Bernstein's performances, live or otherwise, leave out two small chunks, and others also skip certain parts, including Gershwin's own. Michael Tilson Thomas, Leonard Slatkin, Andrew Litton and other conductors perform the whole thing, and Erich Kunzel's recording even restores some parts that were never heard before.
