The next step is to make Green Tomato Sauce for Mayan Pizza! Mayan Pizza will have anything green on it: Oregano, Parsley Flakes, even Crushed or cut up Mint Leaves, plus Green Peppars! But at the exact Center of this perfectly Round Mayan Pizza will be something roundly Black(like the Black Petal on a Queen Ann's Lace!) It could be a Black Olive or a rounded segment of Black Fig, or even a Blackberry(but not an electronic Blackberry!) Cheetzeneetza Teetza Weetza! Make and Eat MAYAN PIZZA !

I loooveeee the movie , Fried green tomatoes , so i bought the DVD and they have the recipe from the movie and is much much better than this one ....

Fried tomatoes is probably the healthiest thing she's ever cooked...minus the 1/2 cup of mayo! Two tablespoons of mayo has 16g of fat!! Imagine how much fat half a cup has.
And suddenly mayonnaise soup with onions and a sprinkle of chives is relish. Hmmm.

Where in the world can I meet a lady with her personality, style, wit ("Yes...they're hot.....did you not see me fryin' em?") and charm? I grew up all my life in the deep south and could not WAIT to join the military and leave. It's funny how now the things I miss most in life are defined by the south. I keep grinning like an idiot unnoticed while listening to Mrs. Deen talk as she cooks those wonderful southern recipes.
This is one of my favorites.

lmao @ 5:16 "when they get here, they will step on yo back honey to get into the door of Lady & Sons cause they're so damn sick of tofu and lettuce, they can hardly stand it". I love me some Paula Deen
I am so in love with her dialect and speech "isms"!

I am from the south (cajun/lafayette louisiana) however we don't really do fried green tomatoes; this recipe does look really good though and I would love to try it. the whole butter thing... you need to calm down punkmonkey. The biggest trick is to ensure you are frying your food hot enough. 350 is the average frying temperature. If you fry it too cool, the food will be saturated with grease; if you fry it too hot the inside will be raw white the outside is crispy
