@eartianwerewolf Actually, I read somewhere that the creator was going to put Kurama and Hiei in a relationship, but due to controversies created when he did something similar in a previous work, he decided against it. Still, it was probably nagging at his mind as he wrote the manga, affecting the scenes to have the subtext of a relationship, whether he was conscious of it or not.
