Tricky Barabas

Heh, I re-upped this because the first encoding YT gave it was practically unwatchable. This time it's crystal clear in HQ. Go fig.

What I Was Doing: Trying to show how Barabas' Earthquakes bring down the ceiling (the glass parts, anyway), and how that glass can damage the characters (which would be good footage for the trailer).

You'll notice me looking at the ceiling to see where the glass is, and also being a bit distracted during the fight. I was purposely leading Barabas "around the block" to get as much glass-breaking footage as possible.

Anyway, things were going all right until the very end. Watch from 2:12, where Baba begins his usual three-kick attack. I'm at over half-health and confident I know what I'm doing. I roll out of the way of the third, slower kick that I'm expecting. Suddenly he cancels his attack after two kicks because my side-roll left him with an open path to his weapon, which he dives for.

When he comes up, I assume he's going to fire because it seems he always does that next; instead, he decides to use Earthquaker! He then immediately begins firing while I'm still getting up, so as I get to my feet I jump to try to dodge as much of the beam as possible and to disarm him ASAP.

I really get nailed by the beam, but my attack works. I then try to stop him from going for his weapon again with a kick, but he somehow sidesteps, blocks, and immediately pulls me into his most damaging attack. Suddenly I'm dead; over 100HP to 0HP in ten seconds. Granted, I'm no vidmaster, but this still shocked me. I had to watch the footage before I even understood what happened.
