@MartinShortLover Probably 1999, if only because Martin had his own talk show premiering a week after that year's telethon, and he preformed this on the show with Lewis. I'm guessing the video here is from his talk show's set?

Amazing to actually watch this...Jerry knows exactly how he wants to execute this song....jokes, bits and all. But he fails to tells Martin any of his changes. It's all happening for the first time. And Marty picks up his cues pretty well and goes along with it. Would be great to watch the final product of the song as it was performed on the program...

I love Jerry and he and Martin Short are great together. I wish we could see a little more of this clip. McGeachan is so full of shit. Jerry Lewis is far from being the only person in the history of show business to cheat on a spouse and/or beat their kids, so why single him out for criticism? And who brought Perry Como and Buddy Greco into the discussion? Who gives a fuck about them anyway? Long live the king of comedy, Jerry Lewis!

@goldenagenut - I think you should check some basic facts. Jerry Lewis does not have a son with MD. I hope for the sake of that great country that you are not an American, as you will clearly be an affront to that nation's education system. There's nothing politically correct about refraining from cheating on your wife or choosing not to beat their children. Entertainers such as Perry Como and Buddy Greco managed to avoid such 'politically incorrect' behaviour.

@McGeachan - Lewis' son was born with muscular distrophy,that's why he began supporting the MDA,he raised many many millions of dollars for that organization. They put his name first for the influence that came with it,he was one of the biggest stars period back then and his name drew a crowd. No one was politically correct then,it was a different world,not full of whining pussies like you who will never be half the man or accomplish half as much as Lewis. Oh listen, your wife's calling,run!!!
