The Ball-Scene is a living network of LGBTQ persons which has evolved from the "Harlem Drag Balls" of the Black Renaissance Era in the 1920s. The following photos feature Butches, Transmen, and Women who compete in specific categories for trophies, personal/house pride, and/or cash. Mostly non-heterosexual individuals battle each other as "free-agents/house-members" in nonviolent combat ranging from Labels, Realness, Performance, Bizarre, Face, and Runway.
