Short example of my new hardware pitch and amplitude tracker supplying the correct control voltages for my x0xb0x so it can play along with my bass. The pitch tracker is Arduino based and circuits and sketches can be found at my website http://registeringdomainnamesismorefunthandoingrealwork.com/blogs/?p=150

  • Arduino based -> software, not hardware.

    Cool nevertheless. :-)

  • Interesting, I never thought of it that way. The software on the arduino wouldn't do anything if all the hardware circuitry wasn't feeding it, I like the term firmware for what the Arduino does, it doesn't feel as soft as max ;-)

  • Yeah version 2 will hopefully feature a tracking filter as soonas I've prototyped one in Max and translated that to hardware. As it is the input goes through a one pole lp at 50Hz and a 4 pole lp at 200Hz

  • Oh sorry, I missed the link in the description. :)

  • You need to bandlimit the signal before reading it. Apply a simple lowpass filter to the incoming signal to dampen the harmonics. Also make sure the incoming signal isn't clipped, that will make the bad harmonics dominate.
