Continuing our EDH deck interview series at Anthem Games, we bring you a budget-friendly Reaper King five-color build featuring Brent Friel. Magic: The Gathering offers options for frugal-minded players in the Elder Dragon Highlander format in both mono- and multi-colored decks. The featured build focuses on permanent destruction and five-color mayhem!

  • Brent had Swine Flu when we were shooting this video, but still took the time to run us through it.

Remember, we are trying to bring variation to the channel and offer all different kinds of players what they want...this was a request for budget decks and we will make more. DID I MENTION THAT THIS DECK HAS PLAYED VERY WELL!

  • What sleeves?

  • WHAT SLEEVES DO YOUR PLAYERS USE?!?!?

  • Tempered steel and one eyed scarecrow would do good

  • Would it be possible to see a written decklist in the description bar? It makes things much easier to analyze. Thanks for posting!

  • budget???

  • @WUZLE wizards did not make EDH, the players did.

  • EDH just looks like an incredible hassle. I built a non-menacing highlander elemental deck back in the day, but that was just uncommons for the most part and no one cared what set they were from. Designing and building a hundred-card highlander deck sounds like a PAIN, then shuffling it is also a pain. It just looks like a way for Wizards to make people buy more cards to me.

  • what is the land base? i would really love to build this deck. Reaper king is such a boss, and i build a lot of on a budget type decks, but i dont know what land base this deck has DX

  • poop

  • @MetaKnight23 True. But any other reasons? I don't think everyone wants to do torneys just because they got some mtg cards. Let's be honest, it's a cheaper solution.
