way late at night, more feel than understand

f'n fantastic!
-
@adelawyer ... you are "dead" on right! Jerry mentioned something similar in an interview on Victim or the Crime
-
@adelawyer i agree and would like to add this, about chords etc: thanks to composer, Mr Bobby Weir ;-)
-
@WeirFaithful Well, thank you. I play guitar myself and know the contours of several dead songs. Some of the most difficult parts are Bob's Take for example his rhythm part in The Music Never Stopped or The Greatest Story Ever Told. Both very sophisticated.
-
@jamjax Agreed! Awesome tune!
From the great Weir Mind! ;-)

@adelawyer I recognize you as one of the Intelligent MEN (few n far between) who are not only educated enough to see this (and i have thought n said the same exact thing since well over 3 decades..) but also secure enough in yourself to say it. I have met herds of Bobby detractors in my day (not that i ever let 'em slide! ; ) to know that the men who criticize Bob are either 1. Insecure in themselves and/ or 2. victim of the fad of criticizing someone else, just to LOOK smarter themselves....

@WeirFaithful Bob is way underrated as a composer and guitarist. His timing and rhythm set Jerry and the whole band up, like a great point guard sets up the big men on a basketball team. His interplay with Jerry on GDTFB is sublime.
-
@adelawyer Thanks to... BOB WEIR... yes; who aside from coming up with this composition, was also known to 'carry the weight' of others ... let say on their more challenging moments.
now how can some folks still have the distasteful habit, in this day and age, to laugh at the guy of the kind of freakin' pants he wear is completely beyond this intelligent woman's understanding.

the lighting makes bobby look like hes spitting- ive been the victim of bobbys splatters-

The Dead are at their best with multiple chord changes which, when they're on, they execute deftly and with subtlety and syncopation. This tune is a perfect example. They also tend to keep Jerry to task and coax him to draw more deeply on his amazing musicality. Sounds dorky but that's how I see it.
