martin guitars have the best necks on earth

maybe the roland cube is not the perfect match, I think we would have been better off with either no amp, or a good acoustic amp. at least my electro-acoustic just doesn't sound right with my solid state electric amp. otherwise I like the guitar very much, thanks for the review.

@Hollywoodgirl1010 usually these guitars have active pickups, therefore they need the battery to work. not sure about this particular one, but very likely this is the case here too. batteries can do several hours of playing, but usually you have to unplug the guitar to turn them off (some can be switched off on the panel) otherwise they discharge the battery overnight.

Hi i have a question. does an electric acoustic guitar work if the battery is empty? like the playing will it work? I know the tuner won't work anymore but the guitar itself with chords and stuff will that still work or become really weak? or is the battery strictly for amping your guitar up to something? thank you.

Herco thumbpicks. They're the same shape as a regular pick. I like the heavy gauge because it stays on your thumb better. I use it when I'm playing a telecaster or a nylon string guitar as well.
Thanks

@johnhguitar What kind of thumb pick are you using?

@nootaramus how difficult was the entire process?

I got one recently- I took some mahogony stain and put a nice stain on it. martin did not finish these guitars very well but you can do it yourself.
otherwise a very nice guitar.

should i get this or a electric guitar i just play at home thanks

@pauldec75 ya it does dirty up a little easily.
I bought this model 3 months ago and love the sound. It really does sound great. The only critisism I'd make is the satin finish. The top corner is now "polished" where my arm goes over the guitar and it looks like it is a little grubby. They should have given it a more hardwearing finish.I love it all the same.

You could buff the entire guitar at a pro shop to make it all shiny.

I'm not trying to impress anyone with this crap. This is like a guy walks in to a shop and there's no pretensions whatsoever. The guitar is basically heard as an acoustic but we amplified just for the sake of it. That was the amp that was there. You want a staged performance for free. Sorry.

Cons: Because there is no finish on the front, the oil from your arm, where it rests on the guitar soaks into the wood & darkens it. I did not notice it until it was too late. So, you have to wear long sleeves. The neck is too wide for those of us with short fingers. The fretboard is soaking up the oil from fingers & I wash my hands b4 playing. If I was to do it over again, I would spend another $500.00, not because this guitar isn't worth every dollar, but I'm ready for something better.

You see, a good solid opinion about a product and not all thumbs up but more good than bad I think. We can learn from each other and make itelligent decisions when it comes to investing in an instrument. People who have a guitar and are very serious don't want to hear truths or opinions that might differ from their own causing fear that they may have been kidding themselves about their instrument's quality. Too bad, live and learn.
