@wingsnad Shure mate, but when you have extremely thick strings you need high action on your bridge. I've used 11's for a long while, but i was getting frustrated due to the action. Tested 10's on a couple of shows, but right now i use 9's (Rotosound Rotopinks) with a very low action, almost like a tremolo action. Really low, and i play E flat or even 1 step down.

can gauge `10-52` be apply to standard e tuning?
wingsnad 5 months ago
-
@SanjeevGeorgeV the gauge has nothing to do with the guitar, 9 gauge wud be average regular strings 11 wud be heavier for metal and hard rock

hey friend, im using 10's on my acousitc and it sounds rubbish for strumming
will 12' or 13's give me a better strumming sound?
does it make much difference
teddyboysmith2 8 months ago
@teddyboysmith2 Probably so but then it's a matter of preference on which guitar strings you use or the guitar and how it sounds with it. I'd say epxperiment with other guitar strings martin strings, elixr etc. And see what works out best for you. And maybe try different picks as well to hear which sounds better. Hope that helps.

i want to change my steel strings on my acoustic guitars with nylon strings (which are usually used on classical guitars) as i think they are MUCH easier to play and sound really nice. Can i do that on my acoustic guitar?
GenderBasedViolence 1 year ago
@GenderBasedViolence Well there not designed for that sort of guitar. I don't know if you can but I would just use the classical guitar for nylon strings and it's a lot easier to play than an acoustic guitar which is what I learnt when doing guitar lessons. And nylon strings the treble strings wouldn't fit through the acoustic machine head cause the width of the string. And you would need ball ends which you can get for nylon because most acoustics are designed for ball end strings.
