@MrPilg0r I don't have the article in front of me but according to Field and Stream the improved clinch knot had average breaking strength of 75% line strength while Palomar had 82% breaking point. (this test was done on fluorocarbon line)
Also I believe knot wars compared the two knots (or maybe indirectly compared them) and palomar did better in all 3 line types; flouro, braid, and mono. I can't confirm that though because the knot wars website on NAFC is down or something. double check that
