Hi, I am interested in the software.
Could you put a link or tell me where you got it?
-
... never mind (ignore my question) - I found the necessary protocols and tools for your and my ideas: CHDK and PTP - PTP is included in the latest CHDK and allows to transfer data to the camera as well as getting back images!
-
Looks interesting - I'm trying the same and would like to transfer shots onto the PC, so a loop like this:
1. Send settings for focus, zoom, exposure, ISO from PC to camera
2. Shoot
3. Send image frame from camera to PC
Any ideas how this can be achieved? I assume, you are using your own protocol (USB voltage on/off) to transfer the zoom/focus settings?

very interesting, but its not really synchron.
and a pc/laptop is required. is there are PIC or an other microcontroller projekt, to controll the 2 cameras? or an usb cable with controller, that connects cam1 with cam2. so cam1 could be the master, and send the settings to the second cam, in realtime :-)

Is there anyway to fire the camera using a remote? does it have to be connected to the laptop?
i have a Canon A720. Im very new to all this..

Hey - I'm interested in the software that you appear to be running on the laptop end of this setup. Is that part of CHDK, or where can I get it?
-

Maybe it's not clear from the title and the description, but the software is called CHDK. And yes, it works on the A720 too. :) Google is your friend!
you're a witch!
