  • This is by far the best version I have ever heard. Her voice makes it sound so effortless, she portrays the torment and the madness to perfection. Fabulous!

  • well .. I come by Florence Jenkins, this one is very good

  • @simonshawnandrews Stupid is as stupid does, and you spell like an idiot.

Dessay must be making a fortune for the voice clinics she keeps frequenting, and now will be taking a vocal rest for a year, no surprise in that...

  • @zamyrabyrd your an idiot

  • Too bad Dessay never covered her high notes. They sort of splat over the pitch rather than sit securely in the center. Shouting out the upper register, in other words, taking verismo beyond the staff seems to be her trademark - not a healthy practice for the voice at all.

  • Dianne damrau

  • Dessay a été une fabuleuse reine de la nuit. En public c'était stupéfiant, y compris quand elle était (très!!) enceinte à AiX En plus, elle a toujours essayé de faire quelque chose dramatiquement de ce court rôle

  • Wow... A tear rolled down my cheek as I was listening to this wonderful performance.

  • Wow. Just wow. Love this aria so much!

  • @jaketaz They are both unique... Diana Damrau's performance is more appropriate and her interpretation is more 'demonic' which does represent the aria. This one on the other hand is excellent but not as evil as it should be...

  • @cryador Thanks, I actually have already seen Damrau's version and disagree :)

  • The singing is actually good but she overacts far too much for it to leave any impression. I agree with 1Marie1Anne1 regarding Dessay looking scared.
