  • Do religious nuts not see the irony in saying they don't believe in evolution because they can't see it?

  • Yes, if you very slowly pour sea water into fresh there will be an initial separation. If you give it time or stir it around though then it will go away.

I'm not seeing how this proves your religion especially with the piles of other insane things I listed from your book. But that is how religions work. You believe in something completely silly without good evidence and expect people to respect it because they will offend you if they mention the truth.

    I'm done with you though.

  • Wtf, this is almost like propaganda. Taking up everything bad about religion and realy making it seem absurd and irrational, and not balencing it with eventuall good things that religion has brought. So that you can see "proos and cons". I dont realy like Dawkins, buz of his black and white view against religion

  • Hitler killed a lot of Jews because he took too many amphetamines, fucking up his thought process, jumping from "oppress" to "FUCK 'EM UP! ALL OF 'EM!"

  • @guitaroso No any state where he state denies religious freedom, and attempts to be your God. The why is personal for each person. Why do you do what you do. If you work for example The why is to give yourself and your family the things that you want. The how is your vocation. The science provides the hows, Religion provides the why. if you want to feed more starving children. Science provides the technology to get it done.

  • @ScientificChristian1 what do you consider godless though - is any govt with separation of church and state counted? - Not every godless govt exterminated people - I'd happily name them. Your point that godless governments and religious governments both do the same thing concludes that it is not whether religion is prevalent in a government as to whether there death prevails to it's citizens as a result. How does religion facilitate the why? Religion (ironically) needs to evolve.

  • @guitaroso science cannot facilitate the why, I love science but it is definitely a how to get things done. As far as the godless governments, EVERY godless government exterminated people, many times their own people. Bad religion does the same thing like Catholicism, Radical Islam. Both extremes are bad for the masses. Look up what communist governments did to their own people. They do this because they view themselves as elite and the masses as expendable.

  • @ScientificChristian1 Yes they did - but not because they lacked a religion and there isn't any evidence to support otherwise. How do you check religion? and how do you ensure that people do not use it towards violent means (there is far more evidence to support the idea that violence is carried out in the name of religion than atheism etc.)

How do you mean religion as the why? I think Science can facilitate both

My central issue with religion is that we personify god and take myths literally

  • @guitaroso Hitler, Stalin, Mao, all used the idea that people are not very important, and they are superior to whomever they eliminated including over 100 million of their own people. Religion unchecked is also bad the Catholic church killed 60 million mostly christians to gain their possessions. In a perfect system there is a balance where religion is the why and science provides the how but neither in power.

  • @ScientificChristian1 Evidence? I don't want to criticise/argue against religion because I do see it's value in society - however, I do encourage all parties to be equally balanced in their arguments. That being said, there is no evidence that either Mao or Stalin (amongst others) committed their crimes because they had no religion (it's just plain speculation) - I'm assuming that's what you're referring to?

  • @guitaroso every godless regime has resulted in millions dead period.

  • @ScientificChristian1 you realise that makes no sense?
