Get ready to travel back in time to the Northeast corner of Minnesota, also known as Minnesota's Arrowhead. Cinematographer George Niles captures stunning steam, electric and diesel images from 1958 and 1959 of several legendary railroads including: the Northern Pacific, Duluth Missabe and Iron Range, Hanna Mining, Oliver Iron Mining, Mesaba Cliffs Mining, Duluth and Northeastern and Balkan. We then jump ahead to the late 1970's as Fred Crissey's camera captures scenes of the DM&IR, Reserve Mining and Cliffs Erie. Many different steam locomotives, impressive electrics and diesel engines are abundant in this production. This video features images from a time when iron ore mining was at its peak. Many of the mines and railroads in this video no longer exist today. Vintage Trains from Minnesota's Arrowhead is your historical glimpse into one of the most unique railroad territories in the United States! Running time 81 minutes Color silent films with music and narration ©2011 C. Vision Productions
