Obama says capitalism and liberty don't work

Speaking in Kansas where Teddy Roosevelt advocated for socialism 101 years ago, President Obama argues against free markets, explaining that the founders concept of a capitalist society doesn't work, and the risks of liberty are too great. It's bigger government that's needed.

We don't have a free market as it is now... its the governments fault as to why our current system is horrible... collectivism and redistribution only work for as long as capitalism can make the money for it. The only way atm for wealth to happen is from the free market with the current tech we have now.

Obama is not saying that liberty doesn't work; he's saying that an unregulated free market doesn't work. The problem with many Republicans is that they think liberty IS the free market.

I think that capitalism/free market worked fine in the fifties because it was about fair competition....a fair price for a fair service. nowadays it seems to be more about big short term profits at the expense of long term stability.Besides that there is more and more government interferance. Subsidised products are being sold for an artificial price rather than the real market value and corporations are lobbying with politicians. Capitalism used to be a good system in line with human nature

That those of us with the least regard for America and the least moral values are the best to rule. That the power of government should be used to better the interests of those most evil among us.

Obama is a big believer in this and these are just words in a speech. Look at his actions.

I don't like Obama but this video is just another bias representation of a 2 party system. Norther liberty nor capitalism were ever mentioned. Analyze videos harder before posting them. Good effort though.

He never came even close to making an implication that liberty is flawed and doesn't work. You have clearly been indoctrinated to the point where you believe that social and economic liberties are the same thing as modern capitalism which only breeds political plutocracy leaving the rest of us under the control of those who pull the strings. That is the opposition to liberty. A suggestion that this fake unregulated "free market" doesn't work is the truth and a defense for our liberties. ILUOBAMA
