I think if the Grizzlies and Gasol agreed to a new contract, they will definitely have to trade Mayo. They won't be able to afford him next year when his contract is up.

@macnastee OJ Mayo's qualifying offer is about 8 million dollars next season. There's a possiblity OJ takes a lesser role ( 6th man ) this season to try to win a ring with Grizzllies.

I hope Mayo gets traded...although Memphis has something good there, OJ will never be properly utilized by Hollins. I'd like to see him go to somewhere where he can be a primary option, because the only time he was given that chance, (before Hollins was hired - the first months of this rookie year) he flourished.

OJ Mayo has some serious serious big time talent/potential. Can't stress that enough. Yes, dude was putting up numbers as a rookie ( pre Holilns). I am torn though whether i would like to see him traded this year. Because I think Grizz are legit contenders for a championship now.

I'd love it if the Nuggets would get him at the trade deadline. Affalo has really struggled so far this season. Mayo would give the Nugs a go-to scorer and clutch player, which they really lack. He'd probably be a starter from day one.

To be honest you guys are in a tuff situation, Allen is a superb perimeter defender. While OJ is a avg at best defender. I completely understand why Allen is starting over OJ, you noticed how he got into kobes head last night? Maybe he didnt stop him from scoring but he sure as hell didnt make it easy for kobe.

My question is, are you grizzly fans willing to part ways with OJ for Beas? Anythony Randolph? Ridnour? Beas will be a perfect compliment for gay while he rests.

long story short oj needs to be a starter! griz arent going to go far unless he is. he is not a bench player. i think his overall game has improved. he is better passer and defender... and his bb iq in my opinion has grown from their run in playoffs last year. tony allen is great defender but not a starting two guard... memphis get it together... or trade Mayo so he can really be utilized by his next team.
