So what impact can third parties have on US politics? And what do they need to do to make it happen?

Presidential candidate Brian Moore of the Socialist Party USA in in Tampa, Florida and Jonathan Hill, National Chairman of the America First Party, whoworked for candidate Pat Buchanan in the 2000 election, talk to us about third party politics.

  • Not voting will not been seen as a protest. It will be interpreted as apathy. Vote 3rd party to protest the status quo which will always leaving us choosing from the lesser of two evils.

  • Abolish the electoral college!

    Nader 2008!

  • @willwkrueger Only the very slight majority of americans prefer capitalism over Socialism.

  • @willwkrueger He's socially left. Economically right. I don't like that propogandish libertarian biased political scale. Sorry.

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123 Dude you posted that comment in 2009.

  • We need instant runoff voting, the US will never make any progress without it.

  • @Epic878787 Why is it that almost every political party or organization that uses phrases or words like "America first" or "patriot" is extremely right-wing and reactionary? America First Party and Pat Buchanan are definitely NOT the way to go anywhere except six feet under the ground.

  • One day very soon, socialism will no longer be a dirty word in american politics. fuck the right.

  • Nader is not on the left, he is libertarian. I simply cannot stand foreign coverage of our domestic politics. the economist was utter shit throughout election season as well.

  • I think the socialist ideals have some weight. Moore is a bore. He has no chance, the Socialis party first need to break their stigma. That of 'communism' etc; and begin to get people on board. The other guy, what a tool.

  • Nothing more than people in need of masters...

  • 2008 may not have been our year, but hopefully 2010 will.
