This speech is from a debate at Hart House, University of Toronto. Christopher Hitchens' speech is in favor of decriminalizing hate speech, and why that free speech must include hate speech. The debate (and lecture by Hitchens), which included members from Canada's government, was a bill, then in discussions, regarding the decriminalization of hate speech, insofar as it is protected speech irrespective of its reprehensibility.
Thank you Hitchens for your impact while you were here. This speech should be published and passed around for all those who claim belief in freedom to check themselves and see just how truly they believe in the concept.

This is one of the best speeches that Christopher has shared. Thank you for sharing this.

At the end of this landmark lecture, I had tears in my eyes. Thanks to Christopher Hitchens for his courage and his unbroken sincerity!

@charlesvan13 As a liberal myself, I believe we betray our own most valued principles with these laws.
