Actually that's BS, because to get them to fight you have to complete both of their loyalty missions.The only way to solve their fight is by having full paragon or renegade. It's not worth the time in my opinion. Jack is a bitch. she can die
The same happens with Tali and Legion, to solve their fight you need full paragon or renegade.
It doesn't matter which mission you do first.

Another thing to do is do Jack's first, and then side with her in the fight between the two, then do Miranda's. That way you will gain and then keep Jack's then after wards you still have Miranda's mission to get her loyalty.
