As usual Paul had this amp modded before filming the demo. He had the bass and middle controls removed completely....who needs them. At that point all he has to do is crank the treble and presence to 10 and........BAM! Paul from Guitar World tone!!!!

I own this amp and on its own it is so so, ACDC, but it is the best amp for feeding pedals into, in particular, the fat sandwich. This thing dials in great after the pedal.
Unlike most boutique amps - SRV meets warren haynes , this thing is limitless
You can get oscillating tremolo sine wave effects on top with g- treble when perfectly dialed (Grace, Too and Gus by the Tragically Hip ) for examples , sustained oscillating crunch- sounds great with slide
endless possibilities

It sounds good to me...even though all the settings sound pretty much the same, lol. Still, I think I'll go try it out for myself at Guitar Center or something before I make a judgement.
