The National Fire Protection Association demonstrates why consumer fireworks are dangerous and why people should avoid them.
According to NFPA research, there are far more U.S. fires reported on a typical Independence Day than on any other day, and fireworks account for more than half of those fires, more than any other cause of fires.

wow, what a load of crap. if you want to cut down injuries you should try educating the public on proper use rather than this blatant propaganda that only encourages the wrong element to use them. i've shot fireworks for a few decades now and not one injury, then again someone took the time to explain the proper use to me. if the NFPA spent less time fear mongering and more time teaching people to follow the instructions on the side of the package they might help rather than look like jackoffs.

Consumer fireworks are only safe in the hands of those who respect them.

What, no mannequins lifelessly staring down at a fountain as the styrofoam melts away? Free advice: Stick to engineering, not political and social advocacy to exert control over people's lives in this manner..
