Internationally renowned organization Save the Children has pressed on Pakistan's government to revise child and family laws in the country in order to provide better protection to children against violence, abuse, and neglect both within and outside the family. According to available statistics, more than 5000 children suffered from violence in the year 2007 while many more cases go unreported. Save the Children has recently launched a national campaign in Pakistan, calling for early enforcement of the Child Protection Bill that was presented in 2006. The campaign aims at putting an end to all kinds of violence against children including corporal punishment in learning institutions.
