.... why? For I see they are not targeting adults, but more the children. The reason that they set it up in a school is because they want to spread the awareness of these new type hybrids to children, so why not through an anime?

For me, I would love to see the future generation all drive hybrids. You sir, are just being ignorant.

NGE isn't exactly a kids' anime, I mean it got rated mature in Finland and they wouldn't broadcast it before 11 pm :P

Of course the Rebuild is kind of a Disney version of NGE and the characters are known outside the 18+ fanbase so I sort of see your point. I'd still say the anime's insane popularity and fitting themes (technology and environment) are a bigger deal than children.

agree, in japan almost 80% of their population goes crazy over the prius and in the States 90% of us are going like "what the hell is this?"

This is a good move by Toyota to promote prius in japan. But it means very little to us overseas.

Eva had some pretty high-tech conceptually technological stuff at the time, so I guess this is a good thing to promote something "futuristic" to the public. I just wished they didn't have the classroom dolls and the AR bullshit.

Very popular japanese manga/anime. It is about apocalyptic mecha action story which revolves around the efforts by the paramilitary organization Nerv to fight hostile beings called Angels.

remember, in japan not only children are watching anime, a large percentage of adults is part of this culture. moreover, Evangelion is a "cult" anime that was broadcast in 95', so it's fans are not children anymore - but grown people that may consider to buy a car sooner or later..
