Perhaps this song was a bit too artful and sophisticated to be put in the mainstream Hollywood movie version - what a great shame, because it is SUBLIME.

Have you heard Shirley Horn do this tune? You can believe every word of the lyric when she sings as if it were you singing about the one and only person in your life, ever.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I'VE ALWAYS SAID THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE MOVIE!

No better female singer currently on the planet. End of story.

FORTY SIX YEARS AGO! I first heard this at age 10, and it has stuck with me for forty six years...she is a wonder, for all her faults, she is one of the best singers ever, ever, ever...

A very great song, and seemingly unloved by its singer.

A great song and a wonderful voice. The very best!

CHEERS TO BARBRA, YES, ALWAYS, BUT BRAVO TO THE OTHER HALF OF THIS AMAZING SONG WRITING TEAM! HERE'S TO THE GREAT, LATE BOB MERRILL. HE SEEMS ALL BUT FORGOTTEN. WHAT A BRILLIANT LYRICIST HE WAS. LOVE HIM!

@Migelito1969 Your comment is perhaps the most insightful and well phrased of all that are posted. You have provided a glimpse behind the curtain of mystery that will always surround this astounding talent.
Has anyone ever been able to sing like this woman??? What an incredible voice! Though her version of "My Man" that ends the film is electric..

Barbra's favorite song from the score. You can tell she loves it-cant even imagine what it was like live on Broadway back then
