LaFolia is a ground bass upon which numerous Renaissance composers wrote variations. Ms. Honey performs a modern set of variations written by harpist and composer Bill McJohn. In the Renaissance tradition, she includes a set of divisions of her own. This harp was built by Catherine Campbell, Port Townsend, Washington. It is a reproduction of the "Boston Harp," a surviving northern European harp from the late 17th century, currently in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts [see picture on their website]. Video recorded at the Harp Journeys faculty concert in Houston on February 28, 2009.
