@zua92 ok. i didnt need to google it i bet you just got that from that stupid national treasure movie you fuck. i know the french built it for us. i took history in college. im tired of this bullshit. if you think that our fucking national anthem is up for interpretation and the notes can be changed at will then go for it. your non patriotism is inspiring. grow up a bit and start to appreciate that these things have meaning to people

@76DHerrick do yu even know how we got statue of liberty withOUT googling it? here is a tip, we did not build it =)
-
@76DHerrick and i take pride in my anthem
-
@zua92 you are comparing apples to oranges. the constitution is a document that obviously is going to change over time but the anthem is a symbol of our country. a more fitting question i pose to you if we are talking about national symbols, can we replace the statue of liberty if we think another design is "cooler?" all i am saying in this argument is that the anthem is a symbol of our nation. and when somebody changes the notes it makes veterans like me, offended. because thats my anthem
-
@76DHerrick "Best" "Good", those are words describing one's opinions, not facts. So, just because you think the song unchanged is the best doesnt mean it is. and secondly, the constitution is open for changes because so far there have been 27. so im going to leave you with this question, if you are so patriotic then why is it ok for the CONSTITUTION to be changed but not a simple song?
-
@76DHerrick and furthermore listen to some of the best renditions of the national anthem over time and you will notice there arent a ton of needless runs like she does here. a good rendition of the national anthem is when someone sings it right and does it justice. and lets the quality of their voice make the song better not changing the notes to make it sound like a pop song.... its not a pop song its the fucking anthem to your country...
-
@zua92 yes songs are up for interpretation. this however, is the national anthem... it is set in stone how you are to sing it. shes not just changing the "forte" which im suprised you even know what that means... shes changing the actual notes themselves which is not "up for interpretation." a lady gaga song would be "up for interpretation" the national anthem is not. it is a patriotic song that is the theme song for our country. you dont just change it because you think you can do it better.

@missbsk517 I agree. It bugs me when people say its so obvious she's lip synching its U can't tell from a video,or on live TV, esp satelite.Obviously on TV sound + vision are recorded seperately then mixed together, the dubber could be a millisecond out +'experts' would say she lip-synched. Also light and sound travel at different speeds so if a live performance is having to go to a satelite and back that may only take 1 sec,but it can make a difference. Jeez.Just accept she's super talented :-)
