The lyrics of the original bawdy Victorian ballad about the Chimney Sweep who went to Newgate Gallows are a lot more forthright than this modern, cleaned up version. Also they contain a lot more swearing.

Kind of ruined. Should never do covers of anyone as great as JOhnny Cash, because you will never get anywhere the same level, which means your version will sound crap. Same goes for the prefessionals, not just you.

Yes, I did a cover of the Cash version, which I prefer (although it's the RECENT Cash version ... his older version from the 50s or 60s was less profane).
