This picture was simple charming: the decoratios and the costume design were gorgeous, but also it's a movie plenty of symbolisms and contrasting situations between the nobility and plebeians. For instance, the birds that are sacrified to take their hearts in order to relieve the Prince of his gout, in some point Vatel realizes that he is like those captive birds putting his heart to amuse the court.
