Told by the detective who led the case review, Telling Amys Story follows the timeline of a domestic violence homicide that occurred in central Pennsylvania on November 8, 2001.

While we will never be able to change the ending to Amys story, we hope that its telling can change outcomes for the millions of victims, survivors, and loved ones affected by
domestic violence everyday.

Produced by Penn State Public Broadcasting, Telling Amy's Story will be broadcast on PBS stations nationwide beginning June 1. Companion materials will be available to help you SHARE this film, DISCUSS it with others, and REFER those in need to domestic violence resources.

  • My neice was just murdered June 12, 2010, by her abusive husband, who then committed suicide. They have a beautiful little 3 year old girl who is now without a mother or father. My sister is taking care of her. But what happens when she gets older and starts asking questions? What happens when the all too familiar "kids are cruel" begin telling her tales they have heard? This documentary needs to be got out to each and every person ..men and women. IF you are a victim GET HELP TODAY, Please!

  • This Is A Very Personal Subject For Me---It Is One Of The Hardest Things To Admit To Yourself---Let Alone Anyone One Else That You are A 'Victim' Of Abuse

A Very Worthwhile Project---Keep Up The Good Work---It Is Very Important.

    Thanks For Sharing.

I Hope This Gives People Out There Who Are Suffering The Courage To Speak Out.

  • Thank you for this. Kathryn Keats

  • I watch or listen or even hear about things domestic violence and see myself. See my now ex BF was abusive. He threatened me with swords left more then one bruise on me, and I see and know how lucky I am to have gotten out. We need to do more to help those in these situations.

  • I knew her..this happened five houses from me..tragic..

  • Truhtfully the only safe measurement is to move away , far away and change your name legally. I am so sorry to see what happened to her. This is true tragedy, horrible tragedy. May God rest her soul in Peace and give strength to her loving family. The only option is to MOVE, to disappear from an abuser. Far away the better and change the name.

  • @judyangel65

I was the victim and moved away and there is NO HELP out there. No funds for relocation and victims need to relocate.Instead, after I relocated locally, 9 months later when the domestic violence case approached the plea phase for him, they sued me, the victim to take my son away though the state had nothing on me, no wrong doing in ANY way. They had nothing wrong on me that I ever did and yet they still sued me. I got custody but no help to move away to safe zone, far away.

  • Dont look the other way. ~~See something, SAY SOMETHING. It's that simple.

For some reason, I'm still here after 22 years of horrific abuse; I take that experience to do good and help support others who are curious about getting out of an abusive relationship or the tender stage of just getting out.

I watched this with a panel of agencies and law enforcement - until someone shuts me up, I will speak out to expose these monsters and bring this issue to light.

  • What in the world? Why was the comment of txbluebonnet flagged???
