I have been drag racing since the Street Machine Nationals were held at Englishtown Raceway Park in the 80's! Nothing I have even driven compares to the Instant sledgehammer torque of an EV Drag Car. I can only compare it to a diesel truck with six turbos with the launch of nitrous!

2012 will bring hundreds of EV Drag Cars! Some with ET's as low as 7 seconds. Electric race cars are breaking records around the world in all classes and arenas!

@Raid1983 I'm neither old, nor a hater on new tech...this is simply the most boring 10 sec pass I've ever seen...and if it runs 5's...well that's a great accomplishment for a golf cart, but it'll still be a snooze and all the "rockin" soundtracks in the world wont change that

Electric cars are great... for emissions. If someone could literally sleep on the ground 6 feet away from you when you launch at a drag strip, you're doing it wrong.

That is perhaps the most boring run I have ever seen. If that's where we're headed then when it becomes all-electric drag racing you won't see me at the stands or catch me watching races on TV. Not having the sound of those loud and powerful internal combustion powered cars would kill it for me. Now that's not to say that I won't willingly drive an all-electric sports car sometime down the road but I'll always miss the sound of the engine.

I think electric cars are for gay people and nitro methane is for real men. But I will admit that sooner or later, electric cars will beat the nitros. What a sad thing to think about.
