This is why events unnerve me,
They find it all, a different story,
Notice whom for wheels are turning,
Turn again and turn towards this time,
All she ask's the strength to hold me,
Then again the same old story,
World will travel, oh so quickly,
Travel first and lean towards this time.

Oh, I'll break them down, no mercy shown,
Heaven knows, it's got to be this time,
Watching her, these things she said,
The times she cried,
Too frail to wake this time.

Oh I'll break them down, no mercy shown
Heaven knows, it's got to be this time,
Avenues all lined with trees,
Picture me and then you start watching,
Watching forever, forever,
Watching love grow, forever,
Letting me know, forever.

  • I just woke up from a vivid dream with this playing. I woke up and realized that my girlfriend was in the other room playing this. Thought I had a soundtrack option in my consciousness.

  • New Order at their peak with this one.

  • @stillustronic so true!

  • i tell you what if this came on in a pub where my lover was i could only go banana's

  • New Order Authored New Wave, and nobody ever did it any better.

  • @jacob7207 ---that would be sooo cool, a consciousness soundtrack option !!!!!

  • @ddognine Well, it's only 6 months difference. I don't know that it's so much better playing as different mixing. And yes, the templo is just a bit speeded up and evened out. Gillian is on this one, and not the first. Very different mixing effects, though. I love both. Beautiful song.

  • Ian hung himself three weeks after this was recorded onto what would be "Still", if I have the facts perfect. I've heard it all, THIS is my favourite song of all time.

  • you can definitely hear their progression as musicians in this version from the 1981 original. the tempos/rhythms are now consistent.

  • Favorite song off Substance, I think.

  • then again the same old story... <3
