  • This was very informative. I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of these and making use of them.

I think that smack talking, while a very effective weapon at the beginning of the game, can be overly obnoxious and a sign of poor sportsmanship. You don't want to end up being thought of as "That Guy/Girl."

BTW, I absolutely LOVE the intro!

  • Ya its really not talking shit. its actually talking up the other persons units to make him believe what he wants to believe. That their the best thing since sliced bread and are his key to victory.

  • hey tony i run an ork list that is a little differnt from everyone else i see

i have a strict battle plan i have 2 deff dreds each flank

and a unit of tankbusta 10 men with mekboy and 2 tank hammers

in center field 2 units of gretchen in the middle covered by my bigmek with KFF behind them r 2 units of choppa boys

and two units of shoota boys either by objectives are helping the flank

what could someone try to do to use this "deception tactic" on me i never get beat and i want to see it done

  • Honestly I don't have a proper list on your army so I can't say how someone would go about it. I also don't know your style of play so I can't really guess either.

  • Hey T, this is going to be a great series. thank you for taking the time to do this. It really makes my painting sessions more enjoyable and inspirational.

Any chance you will have something on if your battle plan goes all to hell? Maybe something on adaption and reaction. what do you think?

As everyone knows, "All fighters have a plan til they get hit in the mouth!"

  • Good point I will. But first I think I need to do some of these so that way I actually can figure out how to do that.

  • does depend on what army you play to, for a pure GK's army for example at say 1500pts, (next to no modles on the table) and if you have a real math hammer opponent it has a very low success rate from my experience.

Very well explained though and gives you alot of info on how to try and sell it

  • Quick note, but I feel that the next video should stress getting familiar with the enemy army. Although, these videos are stressing having a plan that doesn't focus on your opponent, not understanding the ins and outs of other armies handicaps yourself severely. Another idea for a video is to highlight making lists that utilize typical units in an unorthodox way, or looking for interesting synergies between models and magic items. (warhammer fantasy) Battleplan Experimentation lol

  • Have to congratulate you on coming up with a great idea for a new set of videos. Concerning your point of perfect information, I'm going to have to argue against you. Since every codex is available online, if you have any computer downloading aptitude, you should know a decent amount about every army. This combines with the fact that your not going to use a one dimensional unit in some completely counter intuitive way. Good video, love to post more but character limit, lol

  • got a quick battle plan for any1 fighting necrons... shoot and kill nothing but necron classed troops if u waxx 75% of the necron counted units they go poof u win and it's a wipeout making ur necron friend cry. p.s. dont get bogged down in trying to kill monoliths it's a waste of troop killing time and they are tough as hell.

  • Tony, I am starting with Crimson Fists. My first goal is to build a small 500 point force and get stuck in a bunch of quick games to learn the rules. 500 point army:

    Space Marine Captain [100 + 25 power fist = 125]

    Tactical Squad (1 + 9 = 10 models) [90 + 80 + 10 Lascannon = 180]

    Scout Squad (1 + 4 = 5 models with two weapons) [75]

    Scout Squad (1 + 4 = 5 models with sniper rifles) [75]

    Rhino [35 + 10 for storm bolter = 45]

    Total = 500

    Suggestions for the my list?

  • I play Black Templars. My army list is mainly long range, but has a few assaulty squads to distract the enemy while my land speeders with Heavy Bolter & Assault Cannon tear them up ; 3

  • A good video. This idea your talking about also plays a big part in Water Style game play.

  • Great vid again tony.

The whole side of the game which uses the "mental warfare" is quite important for some armies. Although it can be applied to all units in every single army. I think their are certain units that "suit" the deception role.

For example, a unit of dire avengers in a transport heading towards the enemy. With their "fast" transport options they can be deceiving on how fast they can move. Of course a player that knows that unit and its rules will know what you will be up to.

  • It seems possible to take some of the Universal Special Rules and create an ideal scenario for taking full advantage of that special rule. Basically, this would be an effort to understand the rule and apply it to a given situation. Tactics 101, I guess.

  • the military channel all the way
