This video isn't a "only big 20+ yard highlight reel." The clips are grouped sequentially according to the route tree and starts off with ad-lib running. A lot of them I picked because it showed him reading the field, holding the safety with his eyes, or making a quick and decisive decision as opposed to the actual throw/yardage itself. Him scanning the entire field throughout his dropback in 4:07 and then making a quick and snappy setup after the PA in 4:35 are great examples of this.

So basically Alex Smith ran before Kaepernick did, right through open holes just like Kaepernick does. That's why I've been saying that Kaepernick's running isn't that impressive. Any player can run through wide open holes created by an elite o-line.

Smith can make Fasano into Anthony Davis, Avery is as good as Crabs and Baldwin can be a very good deep threat WR. You gotta look at the past QB's he had here in KC, no WR and I mean no one would thrive off of Cassel's and Quinn's passing attack, or should I say passing trauma.
