  • Wtf is a factor? And ytf can't it go in four??!

  • @hathwit7 You can build up numbers by multiplying smaller numbers together. For example, you can build up 12 as 2 times 6, or 3 times 4. Those smaller numbers that multiply together to give you the bigger number are factors of the bigger number.

Your question is a good example of why we built our main site. With youtube, you may have a question like "what is a factor", but there is no clear way to answer that question. On our site, we have direct links to common questions to help you learn:)

  • Could you pls help my daughter in finding out if a larger number say 599 is prime number or not. Is there some formula that can be taught?

  • @binasheikh1974 That's a great question. Prime numbers are a bit of a mystery, because no one has figured out a formula for finding prime numbers, but there is a strategy that works well. The key is to try to factor the number, and see if it has factors other than 1 and itself. If it doesn't then it's a prime number! For 599 you just check the factors from 1 to 24 (up to square root of 599). Check out our website for more about factors. Search for virtualnerd online, and you'll find us:)

  • thankyou that helped me alot and i will start to watch your videos your fantastic! x

  • @LiveLushLoveLife No problem, we're glad you liked it. We have a lot more tutorials on our main site, just search for virtualnerd on google and you'll find our main site. Also, we have a summer special designed to help you keep your skills fresh before school start up again. You can learn more about it on our Facebook page, so check that out:)

  • yes waste ur time teaching dumbasses how to count

  • @hathwit7 It just means divisible by. i.e. 4 is not only divisible by 4 and 1, but also 2. I don't know why they can't just say "divisible by" at any stage during this clip, or even responding to you.

  • omg marry me

  • For all n> 1, there is a prime number (p1) such that:

    2n <p1 <3n, and another cousin (p2) such that: 3n <p2 <4n

    example:

    8 <11 <12

    12 <13 <16

This is known as the generalized conjecture Bertrand postulate.

  • @hathwit7 factors are like saying the factors that add up to 4 are like 2 plus 2

  • to shorten it down a prime number is something that isn't a multiple of something else only its own multiples.

  • Thx ! So its just 2 thats an even # just asking :-)

  • Thanks You Just Finish My Homework

  • thanks babe that really helped
