  • I am trying Slippery Elm tabletts right now and I don't feel any cramps at all. I've just started having IBS due to a very bad bout of Gastroenteritis, which left me with post infectious IBS. So far so good. No feeling of pressure, bloating or gas. I'm definitely thumbs up on this.

Hi there. I am glad to hear it. I started getting IBS badly after gastroenteritis too, years ago. I remember my mother telling me I ought to take it, but I refused, thinking (because of the name) it would be slimy or something. I wish I had now!

  • **Thank you** for posting this video. I was doing a YT search for IBS help and until I saw this I had never heard of slippery elm. I recently purchased some in capsule form, and have been taking it 3 times a day before main meals. It is the most soothing and effective thing that I have found. None of the drugs I've been prescribed have done anything to take away that general chronic grumbling and discomfort, but this does :)

  • @BellamyBlue Oh, I am very glad it has helped you, Bellamy Blue. :) I have also read recently of similar soothing effects if you take 4000 milligrams of Fish Oil per day (that is 4 capsules, if you buy the 1000 milligram capsules.) yes, it is a lot, but I have found it really helps with bloating and pain. (They are also quite inexpensive.)

  • have had ibs in 11 years. Sometimes I get crazy with the enormous pain you get. I have constipation all the time, can get a week before I get to poop.

Where can you get hold of this product? do it works even for people with constipation?

  • @crippa1983 If you Google Slippery Elm Food there are lot of online places that sell it, usually Health Stores. It has to be the Powder form. If you make it thin, it helps with diarrhea, if you make it thick, then it helps with constipation.

Wow, you started with IBS the same way I did. So there is such a bad animal after all. I could hardly think of eating when I was going through the worst of the gastroenteritis, which left me with lactose intolorence and IBS. Every so often I do get unwanted digestive upsets, but most of the time I have the constipation part. Sometimes I feel frustrated by this condition, and other times, unbothered by it. Guess it goes with the territory, huh?

  • Hi there, I find that it does give me relief if I take it absolutely regularly - one cup each evening. If I stop taking it, then the effect wears off quickly.

  • i'm wondering how this worked for your Canadian friend and how its still working for you 2 years on . thank you for sharing your (& Moms) experience .

  • I'm glad it has been helpful.

I am sorry for the delay. I don't get notifications for these pending comments. :\
