"I'm Just A Vagabond Lover" - Rudy Vallée's trade mark hit from the movie "The Vagabond Lover" (with Rudy Vallée and Sally Blane; 1929) - here in a less known interpretation, by Jack Miller. He probably was a popular singer, yet besides his name appearing occassionally, as a vocalist with various bands, hardly any more info can be found in the web.
Recording: Jack Miller, vocal - I'm Just A Vagabond Lover (R.Vallée), Harmony 1929
Thought you would like another fine version,so I posted a video response.Jack Miller is usually found on Velvetone.

Anyone could be forgiven for thinking this is Rudy V singing here. The similarity in voice and style is remarkable.
Thank you for sharing.

Jack was a real person - and for a time in the early 30s in fact, he was Kate Smith's conductor-arranger on radio. I believe he was from Boston, and originally a drummer. He always did have this light vocal style but did not always ape Vallée so obviously.

Jack Miller is probably Rudy himself. Lots of stars played and sang for competing record labels under aliases. For instance, the Dorsey Bros. recorded "Dream a Little Dream of Me" for Brunswick under the name "The Travelers"

Yes, a very nice version: a very handsome voice, expressive singing, good attention to enunciation, and fine orchestration.

Nice version. Brings back memories of my parents, who were great fans of Rudy Vallee. In fact, Vallee's hairstyle almost makes him look like my father when he was young--the center part, etc.
