  • Love your videos but have a question I can't find the answer to. I am writting an APA formatted essay and I do have some subheadings in my essay. Do I triple space or double space before the heading? Also are the headings suppose to be centered on the line or are they suppose to be flush left and underlined? Not sure as I have seen examples of both done so wanted to verify with you before I finished this essay.

    Thanks for all your help.

  • @dusty41497 --->> Everything in an APA style paper is double spaced only unless you have been told differently by your instructor. So remove that third blank line. On subtitles, there are various levels, each of which looks different. If you are using Level 1 headings, they are centered, capitalized like titles, and boldfaced--just like in the videos. For a more complex use of subtitles, you should Google "APA subtitles" and get them sorted out. Best of luck!

  • Thanks very much! I've used MLA for my entire college career until now. You just kept me from spending an anxious weekend waiting to get to the writing lab!

  • @druno82 ---->> YVW. For your reference citations, try the Bedford Bibliographer (I have a YouTube tutorial on it). For in-text citations, it's always (Author, year) with a comma between. If there is no author, use shortened version of source title punctuated normally.
